Yard Worker

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Yard Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various tasks related to warehouse distribution, including loading and unloading materials, operating heavy equipment, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient operations within our yard and warehouse facilities.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks to move materials safely and efficiently.
• Load and unload shipments, ensuring accuracy in order picking and shipping & receiving processes.
• Utilize RF scanners and warehouse management systems to track inventory and manage stock levels.
• Perform heavy lifting as required, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment such as cranes and other heavy machinery to ensure proper functioning.
• Assist in materials handling tasks, including sorting, organizing, and storing products within the yard.
• Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to maintain an orderly work environment that complies with OSHA regulations.
• Support construction projects by providing necessary materials and equipment as needed.

Experience

• Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution center is preferred.
• Familiarity with order picking processes and shipping & receiving operations is a plus.
• Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts or cranes is highly desirable.
• Mechanical knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair is beneficial.
• Understanding of safety regulations related to heavy lifting and equipment operation is essential.

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
