Accountant, Miramichi, NB
When you join our team as an Accountant, you will take ownership of key accounting functions, including processing logging contractor payments, creating and managing invoices, applying customer payments, maintaining accurate financial records and posting month-end journal entries. This role is an existing vacancy and a great opportunity to contribute to our dynamic finance team.

The role is based on-site at Interfor's Miramichi Division located at 626 Newcastle Blvd, Miramichi, NB E1V 2L3.

What You'll Do

  • Process and maintain accurate financial transactions, including contractor payments, general ledger entries, accounts receivable/payable, invoicing and production and purchasing activities.
  • Prepare and apply customer invoices and payments, ensuring timely and accurate reconciliation of outstanding balances.
  • Produce routine and ad hoc financial reports, support audits and provide required documentation to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and corporate policies, while supporting operational initiatives and ongoing business planning.

What You Bring

  • 3 years of accounting experience in forestry, manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
  • Proficient in LIMS, Oracle and Microsoft Excel
  • Great communicator with strong interpersonal skills, highly organized and detail-oriented, able to think critically and solve problems while working well in a fast-paced team and meeting deadlines
