Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Assistant to join our eye care team. The ideal candidate will support daily clinic operations, assist with patient care, and ensure a smooth patient experience. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced medical environment, providing essential support to optometrists and patients alike. Prior experience in medical offices or optical settings is preferred, along with strong communication skills and a passion for delivering excellent patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and manage front desk duties, including scheduling appointments and checking patients in/out
  • Assist with patient care by gathering medical histories and explaining procedures
  • Prepare examination rooms and assist optometrists during eye exams
  • Manage electronic medical records
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions and treatment plans
  • Educate patients on optical products, insurance details, and aftercare instructions
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the clinic environment
  • Support administrative tasks such as billing, coding, and insurance verifications

Experience

  • Prior experience in a medical office setting is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records systems
  • Experience working in optical or retail sales environments is a plus
  • Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye care or pediatrics is beneficial
  • Strong customer service skills with a focus on patient care and communication
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple responsibilities
