The Role

We are looking for a seasoned accounting professional with strong leadership skills to manage our Client Accounting & Advisory Services team. This role is pivotal in ensuring clients receive accurate, timely, and high-quality bookkeeping, payroll, and financial support. You will lead a team responsible for onboarding and account management, driving operational excellence and client satisfaction throughout the engagement lifecycle.

The successful candidate will combine technical expertise in bookkeeping and payroll with a passion for client service and team development. You will establish best practices for onboarding, streamline workflows, and foster a proactive approach to client retention and engagement.

What You'll Do

  • Team Leadership:
    Provide leadership and guidance to the CAAS team, including onboarding and account management, ensuring exceptional client service and operational excellence.
  • Client Onboarding:
    Oversee the onboarding of new clients, guiding them from initial engagement through full integration into our services, and ensuring all financial systems and reporting are accurately established.
  • Client Success:
    Develop and maintain effective strategies for managing client accounts, incorporating routine check-ins, monitoring satisfaction levels, and ensuring prompt resolution of any issues that arise.
  • Process Optimization:
    Implement standardized methods for handling bookkeeping and payroll tasks, reducing redundancies and improving overall productivity.
  • Collaboration:
    Work closely with internal teams to ensure a seamless client experience.
  • Performance Management:
    Track and analyze performance metrics related to client success and operational efficiency, using insights to drive improvements.
  • Issue Resolution:
    Take ownership of high-level issues, delivering clear resolutions that maintain client confidence and trust.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Promote a team environment focused on client-first service, ongoing development, and operational excellence.

What You Bring

  • Educational Background:
    Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; professional designations such as CPA or CPB considered an asset.

Experience:

  • Minimum seven years in accounting or financial operations, including at least three years managing teams and driving client-focused initiatives.
  • Expertise in managing end-to-end bookkeeping processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all financial activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead account management and onboarding functions, fostering collaboration and performance improvement.
  • Proven ability to create and refine workflows that enhance efficiency and elevate client experience.
  • Proven ability to drive client satisfaction and retention through proactive engagement and relationship management.

Skills:

  • Strong technical knowledge of bookkeeping processes, payroll administration, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Solid interpersonal and analytical skills, capable of turning complex financial information into clear, practical guidance for clients.
  • Proficiency in analyzing performance data and leveraging metrics to enhance client outcomes.
  • Proven ability to lead distributed teams while maintaining strong collaboration and service standards.
