Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Aide to join our team. The successful candidate will provide essential support to residents in care homes or through home care services, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives by delivering personalised care in a professional and respectful manner. The position involves working closely with healthcare professionals and families to implement care plans tailored to individual needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
  • Support residents with meal preparation and feeding as required
  • Monitor and record vital signs and health status, reporting any concerns to senior staff
  • Help with medication administration following prescribed care plans
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to residents or clients
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
  • Drive residents or clients to appointments or outings when necessary
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare teams to ensure personalised care delivery
  • Follow all organisational policies regarding confidentiality, privacy, and documentation

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is advantageous but not essential; full training will be provided
  • Valid driving licence is preferred for roles involving transportation of residents or clients
  • Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Basic IT skills for documentation and communication purposes
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a caring environment
  • Compassionate attitude with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow detailed care plans accurately and professionally
  • Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings or weekends if necessary
