Millwright
Dawson Construction is looking for a Millwright who can maintain, troubleshoot and repair industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, ensuring optimal performance, reliability and safety across our operations.
In this role you will be a valued member of Dawson Construction, working in a full-time position of Millwright, reporting to the Superintendent, Asphalt. This position requires a skilled and experienced millwright; one who is safety-conscious, production orientated and self-motivated to perform repairs, maintenance, building and/or dismantling industrial equipment and machinery. Your base location will be Kamloops, B.C and will require 20% travel throughout our great province.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- Prioritizes safety of self and others in all aspects of the role
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Coordinate with management to ensure a smooth flow of communication during repairs or maintenance work
- Always strive to exceed industry standard by providing quality workmanship
- Multitask while executing work within deadlines
- Monitor to ensure equipment deficiencies and operational issues are reported
- Troubleshoot machinery and equipment and make accurate judgements to repair with minimal downtime
- Increase the efficiency and manufacturing productivity of our plants
WHAT YOU BRING
- Journeyman mechanic, welder, or millwright experience is required
- Apprentices in relevant trades will be considered
- A valid BC Driver's license and reliable transportation is required
- Capable of performing heavy physical duties
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Dedicated to quality excellence with a superior work ethic
