Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and curriculum-aligned English lessons to students at middle / high school levels. The teacher will foster critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills, while supporting students' academic growth and confidence in English language arts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons aligned with the Ontario curriculum or other designated standards.
  • Teach reading, writing, grammar, literature, oral communication, and media literacy.
  • Develop and adapt teaching materials to meet students' diverse learning needs.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, quizzes, projects, and exams.
  • Provide constructive feedback and maintain student records and reports.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and inquiry.
  • Communicate with parents/guardians and school staff regarding student progress.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events as required.
  • Ensure classroom management and uphold school policies and code of conduct.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in English, Education, or a related field (required).
  • Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification (preferred for public/private school settings).
  • Additional qualifications are an asset.
  • Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with the Ontario curriculum and assessment practices.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for teaching and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
