Description
PURPOSE:
In accordance with company policies and procedures, the District Manager – Warehouse & Field Service Support will oversee warehouse operations and field service support in our Grande Prairie, AB district. This role requires strong leadership, hands-on technical expertise with wireline and perforating gun systems, and the ability to support customers and field crews in a fast-paced, on-call environment.
CRITICAL FUNCTIONS:
Operational Leadership
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Grande Prairie warehouse, including inventory management of plugs and gun system hardware.
- Provide field service support as needed, including troubleshooting and technical assistance on perforating gun systems.
- Maintain a high level of product knowledge across Plug and Gun System product lines to support customer needs and internal operations.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support inside and outside sales teams with technical information, customer communication, and product promotion.
Customer & Field Support
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while helping foster new business opportunities.
- Communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, supervisors, and vendors both verbally and electronically.
- Deliver products to customer locations (shop and field) as required.
- Respond to field service needs and travel to job sites on short notice.
Warehouse & Equipment Management
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure proper storage, handling, and tracking of all materials.
- Operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
- Conduct or support basic QC processes and inspections on equipment and gun system components.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all safe work practices and use required PPE for each task.
- Maintain all required safety certifications and training.
- Pass all required drug and alcohol screenings.
- Maintain an acceptable driving record and comply with company vehicle policies.
Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years of wireline experience, with Senior or Lead Operator status (or higher) preferred.
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, specifically with perforating gun systems.
- Basic understanding of QC processes and inspection procedures.
- Must live locally in the Grande Prairie area or be willing to relocate.
- Ability to work a 24-hour on-call rotation.
- Strong verbal and electronic communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency (email, reporting, documentation).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to travel for company business as required.
- Ability to lift, carry, and handle equipment as needed for warehouse and field tasks.
Preferred
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience.
- Experience supporting sales teams or customer-facing technical roles.
