York Care Centre, located in Fredericton, New Brunswick, is a leading long term care and senior housing facility dedicated to providing quality resident care and support.

Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to effectively and efficiently manage financial resources, programs, resident trust accounts, administer payroll and conserve the assets of York Group of Companies.

Some responsibilities of this position include:

  • Ensure accurate management of resident receivables, including invoicing of residents, recording payments, and reconciliation of resident trust accounts
  • Invoice any applicable agency on behalf of residents who qualify for applicable benefits or other insurance, such as: Office of the Public Trustee and Veterans Affairs
  • Assist residents and family members regarding financial inquiries with the Department of Social Development, and questions about YCC's processes
  • Collect past due accounts according to YCC's policies; prepare any required collection letters and follow up with the resident and families as required
  • Maintain accurate records of recurring charges for private paying and subsidized payment residents – i.e. cable, telephone, and internet charges
  • Know the application of data entry techniques to accounting systems (Sage/ACCPAC)
  • Administer the payroll of York Group of Companies accurately and efficiently
  • Manage all accounts receivable activities for York Group of Companies
  • Maintain YCC's vendors in Sage
  • Participate in the year-end audit process

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accounting diploma or university degree with a concentration in accounting or business
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Sage/ACCPAC and Microsoft Office
  • Attention to detail is crucial in this position
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, with a team-oriented approach
  • Ability to work independently and with limited supervision
  • Good previous work record
  • Strong organizational, communication, teamwork, and multi-tasking skills
  • Must adhere to required documentation for hire.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,700.00-$59,200.00 per year
