Matrix HR is currently hiring Journeyperson Welders for a long-term, high-profile shipbuilding project in the Lower Mainland, BC. This is steady, year-round work with excellent wages.

Wage: $57.01/hour with a raise scheduled in January 2026.

Type: Full-Time, long term.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.

Start Date: Potential mid-December, beginning January.

Relocation Assistance: $500 (one time) for those outside the Lower Mainland.

Referral Bonus – Open to Everyone:
We offer a $400 referral bonus to anyone who refers a Journeyperson Welder who is hired and works at least one week.

This bonus is for the person making the referral - it is not part of the welder's compensation.

There is no limit on how many referrals you can submit.
If you know welders who may be interested, feel free to share this opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • SMAW and FCAW welding on ship structures and components.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints and welding specifications.
  • Oxy/fuel cutting, plasma cutting, and air-arc gouging.
  • Working safely at heights, outdoors, and in confined spaces.
  • Meeting shipbuilding quality standards and site safety procedures.

Job Requirements:
  • Journeyperson/Red Seal Welder.
  • Valid CWB SMAW All Positions (X-ray quality, minimum 6 months remaining).
  • Valid CWB FCAW All Positions.
  • Ability to pass a plate test.
  • Minimum 2.5 years of welding experience.
  • Proof of SMAW/FCAW use within the last 3 months.
  • Eligible to work in Canada and able to pass background/security checks.
