AJ Renovations Inc. is a small but growing construction company, and we're looking for a creative, self-driven junior to build and kickstart our online presence from the ground up.
Overview
We are seeking a motivated and creative Digital Marketing hire to join our team for a 30-day contract. This role offers valuable real-world experience across SEO, content creation, analytics, and digital advertising.
You'll get hands-on exposure to tools like Google Analytics, Google Ads, Facebook Ads, GoDaddy/WordPress, and AI-powered creation tools - all while contributing to actual business outcomes.
This role is ideal for individuals building toward a career in digital marketing who want practical experience they can show future employers or clients.
Position Details
Position: Digital Marketing Specialist (1-Month Contract)
Location: Hybrid. Home office + occasional job site visits. No WFH
Hours: Full-time or part-time (flexible)
Start: ASAP
Compensation: Based on skillset + bonuses for new business acquired through marketing
Your Key Responsibilities: Digital Strategy & Research
- Conduct keyword research to support SEO and website optimization.
- Analyze market trends, audience behaviour, and competitor activity.
- Contribute to a mini digital marketing plan for local lead generation.
Website Management (GoDaddy / WordPress)
- Update or website pages with SEO best practices.
- Ensure accuracy of service descriptions, project galleries, and forms.
- Add contact forms, chat tools, or simple automation features.
- Basic familiarity with HTML/CSS/JavaScript is a bonus, but not required.
Social Media & Content Creation
- Create engaging posts for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
- Capture and edit photos/videos from job sites to showcase projects.
- Use Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or CapCut to design branded content.
- Assist in managing day-to-day posting schedules.
AI & Automation
- Use tools like ChatGPT, Canva Magic Studio, or video-generation platforms to streamline content creation.
- Set up automated messaging for inquiries (Meta, Google Business Messages, etc.).
- Build simple workflows to help convert inquiries into leads.
Digital Advertising (Beginner-Friendly)
- Assist with simple campaigns across Google Ads or Facebook Ads (training can be provided).
- Help with keyword setup, ad copy, and basic audience targeting.
Analytics, Reporting & Optimization
- Monitor website traffic and campaign performance using Google Analytics.
- Prepare a short end-of-contract performance summary with insights.
- Recommend improvements for future marketing efforts.
General Support
- Assist with occasional job-site tasks like capturing content or light prep/cleanup.
- Collaborate with the owner to gather project updates, testimonials, and visuals.
Requirements
You'll thrive in this role if you're early in your marketing journey but eager to learn and build real projects.
Required / Preferred:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a program in Marketing, Communications, Business, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Strong interest in digital marketing, SEO, analytics, and content creation.
- Familiarity with tools like Google Ads, Facebook Advertising, Google Analytics, or similar is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript/SQL/WordPress is an asset, not a requirement.
- Comfortable using Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or other design tools.
- Excellent written communication skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently (owner will not be onsite daily).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Must have reliable transportation for local job site visits.
