Purpose of Job:

• The Purchasing Co-Op at Hydra Dyne Tech plays a crucial role in driving our success by managing purchasing transactions and maintaining inventories of raw materials, purchased components, and shop supplies. Their efforts directly support our goals and key performance indicators (KPIs), making a significant impact on our operations.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Take ownership of the procurement process, ensuring timely and accurate order placements.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure seamless production flow.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers and tackle challenges like discrepancies, pricing issues, late deliveries, and defective components.
• Ensure supply continuity and minimize obsolescence by keeping vendors informed and forecasts up to date.
• Drive cost efficiency by negotiating with vendors and spearheading savings initiatives.
• Ensure accurate lead times and pricing information by keeping system data current.
• Adhere to ISO standards by preparing detailed report cards for subcontractors and vendors.
• Prepare and submit detailed reports, presenting them to upper management.
• Embrace a dynamic role with diverse responsibilities.

Health and Safety Responsibilities:

• Wear all required PPE while in plant.
• Work safe & ergonomically by following JH&S policies
• Report any unsafe acts, conditions, or accidents across the plant.
• Report accidents, near misses, injuries, or illnesses immediately to your supervisor
• Inspect equipment and the workplace regularly.
• Be alert for hazards.
• Cooperate with others on matters relating to occupational safety and health.

Knowledge, Skills and Education:

Required

• Working towards a post-secondary school diploma preferably in Supply Chain or Business Management
• Good working knowledge Microsoft Office specifically Excel.
• Effective organizational and communication skills
• Attention to detail with learning desire and aptitude.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask, self-starter, independent worker.
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.

Desired

• Knowledge of production process, quality control, costing, and techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing and distribution of goods.
• Strong ERP/MRP and Microsoft Office experience.
