The Role
Reporting to the Fleet Services Supervisor, we are looking for a reliable and safety-focused Driver to join our construction company's Fleet Department. This position plays a key role in supporting daily operations by transporting materials, tools, and equipment between sites, assisting with shop duties, and ensuring that our fleet and equipment are maintained and ready for use.
Key Accountabilities/ Responsibilities
Safely operate company vehicles, including pickups, flat decks, and small trailers, to transport tools, parts, and equipment between job sites and the main shop.
Deliver and pick up materials from suppliers as needed.
Assist mechanics and shop staff with vehicle or equipment inspections, cleaning, and basic maintenance.
Maintain accurate trip logs, delivery records, and fuel receipts.
Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any defects or maintenance issues.
Keep vehicles clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
Follow all company safety policies and traffic regulations.
Support general shop operations as directed by the Fleet Supervisor or Shop Foreman.
What You Bring
To be successful in the role:
Valid Class 5 driver's license (clean abstract required).
Minimum 2 years of professional driving or delivery experience, preferably in a construction or industrial environment.
Experience hauling trailers or equipment is an asset.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks as part of daily duties.
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to teamwork and safety.
Forklift/Telehandler experience and certification would be an asset
