Vancouver British Columbia VEG Canada Dmcl Llp Full time

About the role

DMCL LLP, a leading Canadian full-service accounting firm, is seeking a Talent Acquisition Lead to join our People and Culture team. This role is a key driver of DMCL's growth and culture, responsible for leading full-cycle recruitment across all areas of the firm.

Success in this role goes beyond sourcing strong resumes—you will take the time to truly get to know DMCL, our practice groups, our managers and partners, enabling you to identify candidates who are not only technically hitting the mark, but also the right fit for our people, culture, and long-term goals. You will build trusted relationships across the firm and act as a strategic partner to leaders at all levels.

The successful candidate will be an integral contributor in an innovative and dynamic People & Culture team, working together to provide excellence in everything we do.

This role works closely with stakeholders across our four offices, supporting hiring needs while continuously improving recruitment processes and candidate experience.

How you'll make a difference

  • Collaborate closely with Partners and hiring managers to understand team structures, leadership styles, workforce planning needs, and growth priorities, translating those insights into effective, role-specific recruitment strategies
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment across multiple practice groups and levels, from early-career and campus hires to experienced professionals and senior leadership roles
  • Proactively source, engage, and nurture active and passive candidates through LinkedIn Recruiter, professional networks, referrals, and targeted outreach strategies
  • Develop clear, compelling job postings and structured interview frameworks, including screening questions, hiring manager interview guides, and evaluation criteria that assess both technical capability and cultural alignment
  • Conduct thorough and thoughtful candidate assessments by reviewing resumes, leading HR screenings, coordinating and participating in interviews, consolidating stakeholder feedback, and completing reference checks to support confident, well-informed hiring decisions
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Partners and leaders on talent market conditions, candidate availability, role scoping, level calibration, and compensation positioning using internal comparables and external market insights
  • Build, maintain, and actively manage strong talent pipelines to support both immediate hiring needs and longer-term firm growth
  • Act as a brand ambassador for DMCL by representing the firm at job fairs, campus recruiting events, industry networking opportunities, and through high-quality candidate-facing communications
  • Own and continuously improve recruitment processes, tools, templates, and best practices to ensure a consistent, efficient, and positive experience for candidates and hiring teams
  • Maintain accurate, well-documented recruitment records, interview notes, and hiring recommendations within the firm's recruitment systems to support transparency, consistency, and compliance
  • Collaborate closely with People & Culture, Marketing, and IT to support employer branding initiatives, recruitment campaigns, onboarding readiness, and an exceptional new-hire experience
  • Continuously evaluate and refine recruitment practices to improve quality of hire, time-to-fill, candidate experience, and overall hiring effectiveness

Who you are

  • A strong relationship-builder who enjoys working with a wide range of personalities, leadership styles, and teams across the firm

  • Demonstrates curiosity and a people-focused approach, with the ability to read between the lines and understand what will set someone up for success within a specific role and team environment

  • A collaborative team player who is willing to pitch in during periods of high workload, while also recognizing when to ask for support and prioritize effectively

  • Comfortable balancing structure and flexibility in a fast-paced, professional environment, adapting easily as priorities and hiring needs evolve

  • Confident and thoughtful in advising, influencing, and constructively challenging hiring managers when needed, while maintaining trust, credibility, and strong working relationships

Qualifications & Experience

  • 4+ years of full-cycle recruitment experience, ideally within professional services or a similarly fast-paced, multi-role environment

  • Demonstrated experience using LinkedIn Recruiter and other sourcing tools to proactively identify, engage, and build relationships with talent

  • Strong interviewing and candidate evaluation skills, using a variety of techniques to assess technical capability, potential, and overall fit

  • Experience working with applicant tracking systems, including documenting and supporting end-to-end recruitment processes; experience with UKG or another HRIS is considered an asset

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field; working toward or holding a CPHR designation is considered an asset

  • Ability to work primarily in-office, with limited remote work available

What DMCL offers

  • Standard 35-hour work week

  • Competitive compensation and comprehensive extended health and dental benefits

  • Ongoing learning, development, and career growth opportunities

  • Mental and physical wellness initiatives

  • Firm-sponsored social and team events
