Are you an experienced Business Analyst with strong data governance expertise and the ability to lead analytical workstreams within large, compliance-driven initiatives? This opportunity allows you to guide a small team of analysts, drive data retention and disposition activities, and help strengthen enterprise-wide data management practices for one of our top financial clients.

Working within Enterprise Compliance, this position calls for a BA – Data Governance who can provide leadership, ensure proper governance controls, and support end-to-end data remediation efforts. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical capabilities, governance experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across multiple stakeholder groups.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and provide direction to a small team of analysts within the data governance workstream.
  • Deliver reporting and insights on team efforts, progress, and performance.
  • Oversee and ensure project and data risks are properly identified, documented, escalated, and managed.
  • Support ongoing capacity planning and work-in-progress assessments.
  • Potentially lead an independent workstream or specialized initiative.
  • Provide data governance and data management support across Enterprise Compliance.
  • Contribute to Data Retention and Disposition (DRD) remediation activities.
  • Ensure compliance with Enterprise data standards, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform data analysis and assist in documenting DRD requirements, identifying gaps, and supporting procedure development.
  • Support inventorying, cataloguing, and documentation of data assets.
  • Perform manual Data Retention, Disposition, and Evidencing tasks where required.
  • Build strong working relationships and collaborate effectively with peers, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple stakeholder relationships and provide operational support as needed.

Desired Skill Set

  • 3+ years of experience in Governance, including oversight of compliance or data-related initiatives.
  • 3+ years of project experience, including timelines, tracking, and risk identification.
  • 3+ years of data analytics and Excel reporting experience, including comfort with manual data steps.
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to work across diverse teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Nice To Have

  • Experience leading teams, workstreams, or projects.
  • Banking or financial institution experience.
  • Knowledge of data management controls, compliance, or regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, data storage hierarchy, Confluence, and JIRA.
