HomeBridge Youth Society offers an interdisciplinary approach to youth care comprising of six facilities around the metro area as well as Bridges for Learning, an accredited school program. Youth between the ages of 12 and 18 experience therapeutic interventions, support, and opportunities with a focus on evidence-based approaches to stabilization, education and life skills. We are currently looking for Casual Youth Care Workers:
Here's what you need to get an interview:
- Completion of a Bachelor's Degree in the Social Science field OR possess a Diploma in Child and Youth Care or Social Services or other related field
- A combination of experience, training and education in an alternate field may be considered
- Experience working in the field of Child & Youth, specifically with children and youth with complex mental health and/or addictions is preferred
Skills and Abilities:
- Working understanding of current Youth Care Practices
- Awesome inter-personal, communication and organizational skills
- An ability to connect with young people who are resistant to developing relationships
- Teamwork and a desire to have fun at work
- Advanced video game skills, athletically or musically inclined and youth-friendly
- Open and willing to work shift work, including overnights, weekends and holidays
- Valid certification in First Aid/CPR, (ASIST) Suicide Intervention, NVCI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and Mental Health First Aid are considered assets
