Role Summary
We are seeking a Material Analyst to focus on inventory transaction monitoring, anomaly detection, root-cause analysis and mitigation. You'll be the team's subject-matter expert on inventory movement — ensuring data integrity, investigating discrepancies, and delivering actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Accuracy & Transaction Oversight
- Monitor daily and weekly inventory transactions (receipts, issues, adjustments, returns, transfers) to detect and address anomalies.
- Investigate transaction exceptions through root-cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Validate ERP part master data (lead time, MOQ, multiples, locations) and advise the Materials Manager and Buyers on discrepancies.
- Coordinate alternate-part updates to ensure accuracy across downstream processes.
Shortage & Production Support
- Track Purchase Order data against demand to proactively flag potential supply issues.
- Perform daily Work Order shortage analysis and present findings to the Senior Buyer for real-time updates and resolution tracking.
- Ensure accurate shortage data is reflected in daily production meetings and reports.
- Generate and distribute shortage and risk reports for current and upcoming assemblies.
- Follow up with Buyers to confirm shortage resolutions and communicate updates to Production to support scheduling.
- Support Kitting by printing and prioritizing Work Orders based on material availability.
Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze excess and slow-moving inventory to identify causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Track supplier performance and assist in evaluating new and existing vendors.
- Provide data and insights on material usage, PPV, and transaction variances to Finance and Cost Accounting.
- Contribute to excess and obsolescence reviews and justify reserve or write-off recommendations.
- Support Accounting and Finance by verifying inventory valuation, reconciling discrepancies, and assisting with audits.
- Prepare concise reports and dashboards for weekly reviews and management meetings with the Materials Manager.
Continuous Improvement & Documentation
- Support ongoing improvements in transaction accuracy, data integrity, and materials processes.
- Document standard operating procedures, RCAs, and lessons learned for training, audit, and continuous improvement purposes.
Qualifications
· Minimum 5 years in materials, inventory control — electronics/manufacturing preferred.
· Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems.
· Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, logical formulas); experience with Power BI and Power Query is desirable.
· Proven experience performing RCA and coordinating corrective actions across functions.
· Detail oriented, analytical, and able to translate findings into clear management reports.
· Strong English communication skills and a collaborative approach.
