What You'll Do
As the Mechanic, you will responsible for performing repairs and preventive maintenance on operational equipment. You will Troubleshoot and repair equipment when not in proper working condition. Other duties will include

  • Maintaining maintenance records and critical spare parts inventory
  • Rebuilding equipment on an as-needed based.
  • Implementation of equipment upgrades at customer sites.
  • Perform loading duties, or other tasks, as assigned.
  • Contribute to the establishment of strong positive relations between the Company and our Clients.
  • Respond readily and in a manner that reinforces the reputation of the Company as a supplier with the highest standards of customer service.
  • Possess a good general knowledge of handling, storing and using explosives underground and on the surface (NRC regulations).
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Company HSE Performance Standards, as well as applicable acts and regulations.
  • Guarantee that a safe working environment is maintained in compliance with all of Dyno Nobel's safety rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrate initiative and embrace the Company's standards for safety and customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in safety meetings, read safety documents (safety alerts, emergency plans, etc.) and report all accidents, incidents, and precautionary concerns.
  • Respect and support fellow employees
  • Attend specified training & development and maintain required certifications.
  • Assist in site maintenance and general operations as required.

What We're Looking For:

  • Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Mechanic diploma or equivalent experience
  • Valid DZ Driver License is an asset
  • Thorough understanding of hydraulics and instrumentation.
  • Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.
  • Highly self-disciplined and ability to work unsupervised.
  • Strong capabilities in multi-tasking and prioritizing.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and team player
