Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist Rates and Pricing team in building cost models and templates
- Ensure all customer rates are input and maintained in Truckmate as per customer contracts.
- Assist Rates team in implementing customer rates in Truckmate
- Manage RFQ's and develop freight rate packages for new business development and current customers.
- Perform timely and accurate preparation of cost estimates and profitability analysis on various products and services offered by the company.
- Complete costing of all accounts to ensure customer profitability and volume analysis as required.
- Audit rates in the system to ensure billing accuracy.
- Perform weekly bill audits to ensure all invoices are accurate and compliant with contract terms before posting.
- Maintain weekly, periodic fuel surcharge in TMS.
- Maintain database of all interline/partner rates, assist operations in determining best fit based on cost and service and ensure partner invoices are correct.
- Provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.
- Work closely with the finance team and ensure cost inputs are closely matching with the actual costs from GL.
- Determine the variances between budgeted cost of work to actual cost of work.
- Assist Rates team with Spot Quotes and rate maintenance during peak times and vacation time.
- Maintain all tariff agreements and terms & conditions.
- Perform other tasks as may be assigned periodically.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Post-Secondary Degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics is preferred
- Previous LTL pricing and transportation experience (5 years) is preferred.
- Very strong analytical skills.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel, Power Point mandatory) including a proven advanced level of excel skills and ability to use it for analyses.
- Strong background in cost and estimating techniques
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a highly responsive environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong interpersonal and phone skills, ability to deal with customers.
- Adapt at conducting research into project-related issues and products.
- Strong interpersonal and phone skills, ability to deal with customers internally and externally.
- Ability to think outside the box to create customer solutions that differentiate Remco from our competition.
- Previous Truckmate experience is an asset but not required.
