Safety Worxs is seeking a Health & Safety Coordinator (Field-Based / Site Support) to support construction and industrial project in Brantford, Ontario for a project up to 6 months. This role is ideal for a motivated safety professional who understands field execution, regulatory compliance, and proactive safety culture. Candidates with mid-level through senior-level experience will be considered, with compensation aligned accordingly.

This position requires a strong understanding of Ontario health and safety legislation, effective field presence, and the ability to work collaboratively with site leadership and the workforce.

Responsibilities:

Support implementation and enforcement of site-specific Health & Safety programsConduct daily site safety inspections, hazard identification, and corrective action trackingFacilitate toolbox talks, orientations, and safety meetingsSupport incident reporting, investigations, and root cause analysisAssist with permit reviews, JSAs/JHAs, and high-risk activity oversightEnsure compliance with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and applicable regulationsEngage workers and supervisors to promote a proactive, prevention-focused safety cultureMaintain accurate safety documentation and reports for internal and client use

Qualifications:

Local to Southern Ontario (Brantford)Diploma, degree, or equivalent experience in Occupational Health & Safety or related fieldWorking knowledge of Ontario OHSA and RegulationsStrong communication and field engagement skillsAbility to work independently in an active construction or industrial environmentProficiency with basic reporting tools (Word, Excel, digital safety platforms)

Preferred:

CRSP, CHSO, or equivalent safety designation5+ years of field safety experience (construction, industrial, or heavy civil preferred)Experience mentoring junior safety staff or leading site safety initiativesStrong incident investigation and regulatory interface experience
