COMPANY SUMMARY

The Regional Learning Centre (RLC) supported by Nucleus Independent Living strengthens the skills and abilities of direct care providers in the community sector locally, and across Ontario. The RLC provides front-line staff and supervisors with tools to improve client care through the delivery of educational sessions, focused learning, and development.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Regional Manager is an operational and educational leader responsible for the effective delivery, quality, and growth of the Regional Learning Centre. Reporting to the Executive Director (or designate), this role provides strategic and day to day leadership across operations, people management, program delivery, and stakeholder engagement.

The Regional Manager plays a critical role in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for participants, while building a collaborative, high performing team culture that supports the evolving needs of the community care sector.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Leadership and Business Management (50%)

  • Provide leadership and oversight to the RLC education team, including community educators (hybrid) and the Program Coordinator.
  • Collaborate with Nucleus Independent Living to execute and advance the RLC Strategic Plan.
  • Ensure consistent operational standards, tools, and processes across the team to support effective program delivery.
  • Leverage technology to improve efficiency in administration, communication, scheduling, and reporting.
  • Oversee the maintenance and safety of the physical learning environment.
  • Identify and address operational risks, escalated concerns, and issues in a timely, solution focused manner.
  • Represent the Regional Learning Centre at external meetings, committees, and community forums.
  • Participate in communities of practice and sector based knowledge sharing initiatives.

Program Delivery and Quality Assurance: (10%)

  • Oversee planning and development of the quarterly education calendar, ensuring balanced facilitator workloads and alignment with demand.
  • Monitor program quality and effectiveness through participant and instructor feedback, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Establish review cycles for education materials to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with best practices.
  • Prepare quarterly performance and financial reports for the Vice President, Strategic Partnerships, ensuring education targets and fiscal accountability are met.
  • Monitor trends in education delivery and technology, developing business cases for proposed enhancements where appropriate.

Facilitation and Content Creation: (40%)

  • Deliver education sessions as required, in partnership with RLC education staff.
  • Support the development of new learning modules and e learning content.
  • Attend train the trainer sessions to support new program offerings.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain subject matter expertise and facilitation excellence.

Qualifications and Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Business Administration, or a related healthcare or education field.
  • Member in good standing of a relevant professional college, where applicable.
  • Minimum of two years of progressive experience in an educational or training environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and leading teams (minimum four direct reports).
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to engage confidently with stakeholders at multiple levels.

Preferred:

  • Certified facilitator in ASIST, Gentle Persuasive Approaches (GPA), and/or Mental Health First Aid.
  • Experience in the home and community care sector.
  • Understanding of the role of Personal Support Workers (PSWs) within community based care.
