Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team at Royal Oak Dental Centre. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by preparing patients, assisting with procedures, and ensuring a smooth workflow. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing exceptional patient care while utilizing your skills in dental assisting and technology. Experience with dental software such as Tracker, as well as familiarity with orthodontics and pediatrics, will be highly valued.

Duties

  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments to ensure a safe and efficient environment
  • Assist the dentist during various procedures, including orthodontic and pediatric treatments
  • Take and develop dental radiographs
  • Manage patient records accurately using Tracker
  • Provide patient education on oral health care and post-treatment instructions
  • Maintain a clean and organized clinical area, adhering to infection control protocols
  • Support front desk operations by performing duties typical of a dental receptionist when needed
  • Handle medical terminology related to dental procedures for accurate documentation and communication

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in dental assisting, with knowledge of Tracker dental software
  • Strong understanding of dental medical terminology
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Certification or training in dental assisting is preferred but not mandatory
  • Prior experience or familiarity with dental receptionist duties is a plus
