We are seeking a versatile and motivated
Software Developer
to join our KTLO (Keep the Lights On) and Vulnerabilities team. This role is ideal for someone with solid software development fundamentals and hands-on experience across multiple technologies. While proficiency in
.NET, Python, and
is required, we welcome candidates with varying levels of expertise across these stacks — strong in at least one and exposure to the others is acceptable.
The Opportunity
- Maintain and enhance existing applications to ensure stability, performance, and security.
- Collaborate with security teams to identify and remediate vulnerabilities across platforms.
- Develop and deploy fixes, patches, and improvements in a timely and efficient manner.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to uphold development standards.
- Support automation efforts and contribute to tooling that improves KTLO operations.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and implement enhancements.

What You Need
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience in software development.
- Hands-on experience with .NET (C#), Python, and — strong in at least one, with working knowledge or exposure to the others.
- Solid understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Basic understanding of application security and vulnerability management.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges.
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in KTLO, production support, or vulnerability remediation.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

: $95,000-$119,000
Benefits
Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They and their dependents residing in Canada are eligible for Supplemental Healthcare coverage, as well as Company-paid Employee Only basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.
Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year). They and their dependents residing in Canada are eligible for Supplemental Healthcare coverage, as well as Company-paid Employee Only basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.
Part-time regular and temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).
All Canadian employees who work in a province, territory or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
