Transit Bus Technician Advisor

FleetZero is seeking a skilled and experienced 310T Licensed Truck and Coach Technician with a minimum of 10 years of specialized experience in heavy-duty transit bus maintenance. This role requires an expert capable of diagnosing and overseeing the maintenance of diverse transit fleet, including diesel, hybrid, and electric propulsion systems.

The primary responsibility of the position is to oversee safe and quality production and maintenance practices for transit vehicles and equipment in a timely manner, utilizing experience and continuous process improvement to contribute to our team and work environment. The Transit Bus Technician Advisor (310T) will use their years of technical experience to identify compliance with fleet-technical specifications, safety standards, and relevant regulatory requirements, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement. Sample tasks include:

· Advanced Diagnostics: Utilize OEM specific software to troubleshoot complex engine, transmission, and multiplexing electrical issues as well as conducting root cause analyses.

· Major Overhauls: Develop standards and observe compliance on maintenance and repair activities related to complete engine and transmission removals, replacements, and rebuilds.

· System Maintenance: Develop standards and observe compliance on maintenance and repair activities related to air brake systems, HVAC, steering, and pneumatic suspension components.

· Alternative Power: Develop standards and observe compliance on maintenance and repair activities related to high-voltage battery systems and hybrid drive components (specific training provided where necessary).

· Safety Compliance: Observe compliance activities related to MTO (Ministry of Transportation) standards and mandatory annual inspections.

· Quality Assurance: Support staff with conducting PDIs and commissioning activities for new and repaired heavy-duty transit vehicles.

· Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and oversight to technicians, mechanics and fleet staff on best practices.

Certification: Valid 310T Truck and Coach Technician license is mandatory.

Experience: Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience specifically within the transit or motorcoach industry.

Technical Proficiency: Proven expertise in modern transit technologies.

Licensing: A valid Class CZ or DZ driver's license (or willingness to obtain one) to perform road tests.

· Experience with specific transit makes such as New Flyer, Nova Bus, or MCI.

· Knowledge of EV (Electric Vehicle) safety protocols and high-voltage systems.

Hourly Rate: $45-$60– Competitive based on senior-level experience.
