The Opportunity

Novera is looking for an experienced Residential Roofing Foreman to lead a crew on asphalt shingle and related steep-slope projects. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who can balance production, safety, and customer experience on every job.

What You'll be Doing

  • Leading a residential roofing crew on tear-offs, re-roofs, and repairs, ensuring quality workmanship and efficiency each day.
  • Setting up sites (fall protection, ladders, scaffolding, material staging) and enforcing safety standards at all times.
  • Reading work orders, planning daily tasks, and coordinating with the office for materials, deliveries, and inspections.
  • Communicating clearly with homeowners about timelines, scope of work, and any changes or issues on site.
  • Inspecting completed work for quality, making adjustments, and signing off jobs to Novera's standards.
  • Training and mentoring crew members to grow their skills, productivity, and safety habits.

What You Bring

  • 3–5+ years' experience in residential roofing with strong knowledge of asphalt shingles and steep-slope systems; metal and other systems are an asset.
  • Previous experience as a foreman/lead hand running a crew, or as a top roofer ready to step into leadership.
  • Proven ability to organize a job site, hit production targets, and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
  • Comfort working at heights and outdoors in changing weather conditions, with the physical ability to lift materials and climb ladders throughout the day.
  • Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation to projects across HRM and nearby communities.
  • Professional, respectful attitude with homeowners, crew, and management.

Schedule

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday.
  • Occasional Saturdays during peak season, with weather-dependent flexibility.
