Summary:

The Purchasing Agent is responsible for the procurement of components, parts, supplies, equipment, and services as required by production, part sales and repairs. This individual utilizes knowledge to purchase goods and services at the most favourable price, delivery and quality combination for the company, while simultaneously building and maintaining relationships with key suppliers.

Duties & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Make recommendations and suggest options regarding material shortages.
  • Negotiate return of items to vendors and coordinate subsequent credits or replacements.
  • Remain up-to-date on pricing trends, changes, and restrictions that could affect purchasing.
  • Conducting research on potential products, vendors, and services, and comparing price and quality to ensure the best deal.
  • Meeting with vendors and clients to negotiate the best contracts.
  • Liaising with delivery and warehouse teams to ensure goods are received on time.
  • Monitoring inventory and writing orders to refill stock
  • Handle shipping arrangements.
  • Demonstrate good skills in negotiation, pricing, organization
