This Position reports to:

Senior Engineering Manager

As an electrical engineering intern, you will assist the test and design engineer of machine-human interfaces for mine hoist system

You will be part of ABB Canada's Process Automation, Process Industries division and will be based in our Saint-Laurent office.

Your position and responsibilities

  • Testing of winch control and supervision systems Testing of SIL 3 brake control systems for winches Development of operator interface for hoisting systems (ABB mine hoists) Installation of software for operator interfaces and system maintenance computers
  • Help develop and maintain winch control and supervision systems
  • Writing and updating technical documentation and operating manuals

Qualifications for the position

  • Electrical engineering student.
  • General programming knowledge.
  • PLC experience an asset.
  • Good communication skills, able to approach others with questions.
  • Proactive in work.
