Overview

We are looking for a reliable and organized Shipper / Receiver to support our fabrication and industrial service shop. This role is critical to keeping jobs moving smoothly by ensuring material, parts, and equipment are received, staged, shipped, and tracked accurately. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a busy shop environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming materials, parts, and equipment; verify quantities and condition against packing slips.
  • Organize, label, and stage materials for fabrication, machining, and service jobs.
  • Prepare outgoing shipments including packaging, labeling, and coordinating pickups with carriers.
  • Load and unload trucks using forklift or pallet jack as required.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and notify the team of shortages or discrepancies.
  • Support shop flow by ensuring jobs have the required material available on time.
  • Keep the shipping/receiving and yard areas clean, organized, and safe.
  • Assist with general shop duties as needed (cutting material, basic prep work, cleanup).

Required Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in shipping and receiving or warehouse environment.
  • Ability to read packing slips, bills of lading, and basic job paperwork.
  • Comfortable working in a fabrication or industrial shop environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift heavy items and work on your feet for extended periods
  • Must have clean driving record and license.
  • Forklift experience or certification.
  • Familiarity with steel, aluminum, or industrial components.
  • Basic computer skills for inventory or shipping systems.
  • Experience supporting fabrication, machining, or service operations.
