About the role

The candidate will participate in engineering activities including but not limited to:

  • Hardware and software design and requirements analysis
  • Review and analyze vendor data for:
  • Reliability, Availability and Maintainability predictions
  • FMECA (Failure Modes, Effects, & Criticality Analysis)
  • Appropriately placed repair, sparing, and lifecycle cost predictions
  • FBDs(Functional Block Diagrams)
  • RBDs (Reliability Block Diagrams)
  • Participating in design and system architecture reviews.
  • Ensuring Design for Supportability and Engineering for Supportability (Dependability, affordability, standardization, upgradeability) activities are being considered and captured

What you bring to the role

  • Pursuing a degree in System/Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering/Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
  • Eligible for North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Secret clearance in a timely manner
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Technical mindset to breakdown systems into logical units
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and their components
  • Aptitude for working well in teams and solving challenging problems in a team environment
  • Ability to work independently
  • Well organized, capable of planning, scheduling and prioritizing work
  • Available for a minimum of four (4) months, up to eight (8) months, starting May 2026.

Additional skills desired for the role

  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering, Reliability, Maintainability and Availability (RMA) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • Knowledge of Systems Modeling Language (SysML), Unified Modelling Language (UML)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Office, Visio, SharePoint, Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS), Windchill Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Jira
  • Results-Oriented Self-Starter Attitude.

Language Requirements in Quebec

Knowledge of the English language is required for this role as the position described in this posting requires the candidate to communicate every day with a virtual team outside Quebec as well as communicate with different members of the organization, clients and suppliers located outside of Canada. For engineering positions, the candidate must also be able to read or modify technical documents from our main clients and write technical documents for these same clients.
