The opportunity
The Regional Resuscitation Program Specialist for Alberta, NWT & Saskatchewan is a key ambassador for Heart & Stroke, strengthening relationships and driving meaningful engagement across a diverse network of instructors, training partners, customers, and corporate accounts. In this role, you'll use your knowledge of our resuscitation programs to help expand our reach and influence—ultimately supporting our mission to improve emergency cardiovascular care and first aid training across Canada.
You will play a vital role in helping us Own the Market: positioning Heart & Stroke as the trusted leader and the first choice for employers and healthcare providers seeking to enhance their lifesaving emergency response programs.
This role reports to the Resuscitation Program Manager, AB, NWT & SK to grow our network, identify new opportunities, and elevate the delivery of our resuscitation education programs in the region. You'll collaborate with teams across Heart & Stroke to ensure strong communication and alignment between the training network and the organization. You will also uphold our Guidelines, support compliance with program standards, and may represent Heart & Stroke at provincial meetings, events, and conferences to strengthen our presence and impact.
This 10 month contract opportunity is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to work remotely from a home office, is passionate about relationship building, continuous improvement, and supporting a mission that helps save lives every day. Access to a car is required to travel around Alberta and Saskatchewan based on the needs of the business.
How you will make an impact every day
Know our Customer and Instructor Network
- Develops a strong understanding of our customers and instructor networks.
- Develops and maintains strong working relationships with relevant institutions and professional organizations within the regional network.
- Works with Resuscitation Program Analyst to use data to better understand network activity.
- Identifies, knows and monitors top performers in our network (instructors and customers) and within our market segments.
- Deepens our understanding of our constituents through effective relationship building, investigation and documentation.
- Enables and fosters strong working relationships between and among instructors and instructor trainers
Know our Programs
- Understands our programs and the role of our courses in the marketplace.
- Develops strong familiarity with our programs, courses and their target audiences.
- Describes and conveys the value proposition of our programs to potential clients for our courses.
- Differentiates our offerings from those of competitors.
Helps us "Own the Market" by understanding the needs of the network, cultivating relationships and nurturing high performers and advisors
- Provides just-in-time and critical knowledge of our network to augment and support decision-making and partner engagement.
- Identifies new leads and possible business development opportunities.
- Supports development and implementation of plans to recruit, train, on-board and retain instructors.
- Utilizes CRM (Salesforce) to evaluate and monitor network performance and to manage interactions.
Supports program administration and continuous improvement, and reinforces H&S policies and guidelines with the instructor network
- Ensures effectiveness and continuity by proactively following up and holding self, team and stakeholders accountable.
- Supports improved Resuscitation Support Centre, acting as the day-to-day liaison for the region and demonstrates issue awareness, a culture of continuous improvement and timely, effective responses.
- Effectively and consistently leads and/or supports the investigation and resolution of QA infractions and complaints.
- Maintains effective and detailed notes about meetings and upcoming plans.
- Supports organization and execution of special events, as required.
- Coordinates volunteers as needed.
Who we need
Experience
- 3+ years experience in customer service or sales role
- Experience in corporate sales and communications
- Heart & Stroke Instructor certification and/or other agency instructional experience an asset
- Knowledge of provincial healthcare systems and resuscitation training agencies an asset
- Experience working in the health care field would be an asset
- Experience in the not-for-profit sector would be an asset
Education
- Degree, diploma or certificate program in business, health science or a related field
- An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
- Certificate/training in adult education preferred
Skills
- A professional and exceptional customer first and first call resolution approach.
- Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated high level of initiative, resourcefulness and ability to self-direct with minimal supervision.
- Ability to effectively promote opportunities and partnerships.
- High level of ownership and accountability to goals, teamwork and following best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) with the talent for communicating in a mature and professional manner.
- Demonstrated working knowledge and skill in the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Salesforce or other CRM applications, an asset.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology and life support equipment, an asset.
- French/English bilingual, an asset
