The Retail Pharmacy Departments at Hamilton Health Sciences serve our community, our patients upon discharge from hospital, and our specialized outpatient patient populations to manage drug therapies for positive patient outcomes and are committed to pharmaceutical care. Our approach to patient focused health care empowers our Pharmacists to focus on outpatient pharmacy care delivery while providing opportunities for collaborative participation in hospital and post-hospital care. Working toward integration with the primary care teams, this allows for maximization of the Pharmacists clinical role and provides enhanced Pharmacy Technician roles in drug distribution.

1. Registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (Part A of Register)
2. Minimum 1 year prior retail pharmacy experience
3. Demonstrated retail pharmacy information system computer skills
4. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communication, teamwork, problem-solving and organizational skills
5. Demonstrated commitment to professional development including knowledge related to new regulatory framework and professional services
6. Hospital pharmacy experience an asset

Monday to Friday; days 

As a Pharmacist in our retail setting, you will be responsible for assessing drug related problems while ensuring that prescriptions are dispensed in a timely, accurate and professional manner to support our patient populations. This position will provide services across all our retail pharmacy sites, offering variety and expanded clinical expertise (e.g. oncology, pediatrics, specialized immunology and hematology services) to the Pharmacist role.  The Pharmacist will demonstrate patient-centered care and excellent communications skills in conducting professional services such as MedsCheck, Pharmaceutical Opinion, Minor Ailments prescribing, new prescription patient counseling and patient education.
