Job Summary

A vehicle is necessary as our warehouse is off local bus routes.


This position will start as casual or part time with the opportunity to lead to full time.


We are seeking a dedicated sewing machine operator to add to our close knit female team. We are a fashion development and manufacturing studio located in Maple Ridge. We work with local fashion brands offering pattern drafting, sample making and small batch manufacturing. This is a fast paced environment, where our key focus is quality and attention to detail.

Applicants must have experience in fine woven and knit fabrics.

Duties

  • Sewing cut garments on industrial sewing machines
  • Trimming of threads and steam or pressing of garments
  • Studio clean up and tidy
  • Threading and tension checking of machines
  • Sewing on straight stitch, serger/overlock, cover stitch, bar-tack, button and buttonhole machines
  • Quality control of garments

Qualifications

  • Experience working on industrial sewing machines, including threading and tension setting
  • Knowledge of garment construction and finishing
  • Knowledge of industry terms
  • Able to work independently and as a team
  • Must be open to instruction and an open communicator
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be open to a flexible schedule to meet client and delivery needs
