Job Overview:
Responsible for integrating Customer Quality and Supplier Management programs into the company's Quality Management System to ensure consistent product compliance with internal and customer standards. Oversees key areas including private label quality, consumer complaint resolution, and quality protocols in product commercialization. Along with establishing and maintaining supplier qualification and evaluation standards for ingredients and packaging, aligned with the organization's supplier quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and enhance the Approved Supplier Program, including supplier quality procedures, risk assessments, audit schedules, performance scorecards, CoA verification, onboarding support, and alignment with global risk and continuity frameworks.
- Lead and oversee consumer complaint management by ensuring timely investigations, driving root cause corrective actions, analyzing trends, and partnering with plant teams to implement quality improvements and reduction goals.
- Responsible for the maintenance of the approved supplier program including maintaining the organization's supplier quality expectations and developing the standard work for new ingredient or material approval ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.
- Develop audit schedule (with direct reports) for suppliers based on risk-tiering (with Mondelez Global Auditing)
- Partner with suppliers to improve quality and food safety compliance
- Provide cross-functional leadership with Give and Go QA teams, procurement, Mondelez supplier & customer quality and global teams.
- Actively live and role model our Leadership competencies by holding self and team (including all direct report 'people leaders') accountable for creating a positive work environment and culture through administration of our People Processes and Tools.
- Provide Leadership and Direction to the Supplier, Customer and Brand Quality Teams
- Ensure that employees work in compliance with health and safety-related legislation and company's health and safety program
- Ensures food safety and food quality programs and procedures and applicable requirements of the GFSI system is fully implemented and are followed at all times
Recipe for Success:
- Completion of Bachelor of Science degree in Quality Assurance, Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology or a related field
- Minimum 8 years in Food Safety and Quality in the food industry
- Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP)
- Strong knowledge of quality principles, SPC, specification development, process capability, product standards, innovation processes, and product commercialization
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills
- Demonstrated cross-functional leadership skills with an effective ability to coach, affect change and influence others
- Experience with implementing new processes and leading continuous improvement initiatives
- Possess strong customer service, interpersonal skills, an approachable demeanor, and an active listener
- Knowledge of CFIA/Health Canada/FDA/USDA/GFSI/HACCP regulations and standards
- Excellent ability to focus and prioritize in a fast-moving environment
- Experience in the baking industry would be an asset
