Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Civil Litigation Lawyer to join our growing team in St. Catharines, Ontario with an immediate start. The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload and represent clients at various stages of civil proceedings from pleadings through trial and appeal.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage files independently in civil litigation matters
  • Draft pleadings, motions, affidavits and other court documents
  • Conduct discoveries, mediations and settlement negotiations
  • Appear before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and other tribunals
  • Provide strategic legal advice to clients
  • Maintain accurate file management and meet all procedural deadlines

Practice Areas May Include

  • Contract disputes
  • Commercial litigation
  • Real estate litigation
  • Employment disputes
  • Construction litigation
  • Debt recovery / enforcement

Qualifications

  • Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
  • Solid knowledge of Ontario Rules of Civil Procedure
  • Strong advocacy, drafting, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple files and work independently
  • Excellent communication and client-management skills

Assets (Preferred but Not Required)

  • Trial or motion experience
  • Mediation or arbitration experience
  • Bilingual (English/French)
  • Portable book of business (for senior roles)

Pay: $120,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
