At Net-Zero Engineering, we utilize the latest technologies to deliver engineering packages that are tailored to our clients needs. We specialize in design-build construction and work with many facility owners and contractors to support specialized engineering services not typically offered by larger engineering firms. We are hands-on, utilize the latest 3D technologies, and are more often found in the field than in the office supporting our clients.

As a member of the Net-Zero Engineering Team (NZE), you will report to the Mechanical Discipline Lead and be responsible for providing mechanical design, drafting, and supervision support for building mechanical, mechanical process design, and building permit preparation. Experience in seismic and piping design is considered an asset.

You will ensure work is done in accordance with applicable BCBC, ASHRAE, NBCC, NEBC, NFPA codes and standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements. You will also perform field reviews and prepare reports on some projects. You will be responsible for performing calculations, maintaining the drawing management system, checking of mechanical designs and developing work procedures.

Requirements of the position:

  • Four (4) year degree in mechanical engineering;
  • 7-10 years of relevant work experience;
  • Familiarity reading and working with P&ID's;
  • Knowledge of the BC Building Code, BC Plumbing Code, BC Fire Code, NBCC, NEBC, and ASHRAE codes.
  • Experience working in AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor, or Plant 3D. Candidate must be fluent in at least two (2) of these software packages;
  • Position will be a hybrid role with occasional field reviews

Assets:

  • Seismic design for piping, ducting, and plumbing systems;
  • Advanced Bluebeam experience.
  • Fluent in Office 365.
  • Class 5 valid driver license with a vehicle;
