Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Basketball Coach to join our team. Located in the North West Calgary. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of basketball fundamentals and the ability to educate players on techniques, strategies, and teamwork. This role entails coaching our new grass roots program.

Duties

  • Implement or assist on practice plans that focus on skill development, teamwork, and game strategy.
  • Educate players on the rules of basketball, emphasizing sportsmanship and fair play.
  • Conduct individual and group training sessions to improve players' skills in shooting, dribbling, passing, and defensive techniques.
  • Analyze player performance during games and practices to provide constructive feedback for improvement.
  • Foster a supportive team culture that encourages communication, collaboration, and respect among players.
  • Ensure the safety of all participants during practices and games by maintaining a safe environment.

Experience

  • Enthusiasm for teaching the game is essential.
  • Previous coaching entry level basketball, is required.
  • Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals and strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire athletes.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals of varying skill levels.

Schedule

  • between 3-5pm Thursdays from Oct 23 - Dec 11
  • more shifts can be added
