Job Description
The Class 5 5-ton City Pick up & Delivery driver is responsible for:

  • Completing local deliveries within Prince Albert and the surrounding area in a timely and efficient manner
  • Operating and maintaining a 5-ton delivery truck in accordance with company policies and local regulations
  • Planning and optimizing delivery routes to ensure on-time performance and fuel efficiency
  • Loading and unloading cargo safely, using proper lifting techniques and equipment when necessary
  • Verifying shipments against delivery orders and reporting any discrepancies
  • Collecting signatures on a handheld tracking device and payments for deliveries when required
  • Maintaining accurate logs of on-duty hours, mileage, and vehicle maintenance on an ELD
  • Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance
  • Communicating effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members
  • Adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations while representing the company professionally
  • Dock duties as needed.
  • Reporting any accidents, injuries, or safety concerns immediately to management
  • Maintaining a clean and organized vehicle at all times
  • Participating in regular safety meetings and training sessions

A normal work week will be Monday to Friday; however, some flexibility in availability will occasionally be required to meet delivery demands and customer needs.

Qualifications

  • Class 5 license
  • 1 year of Pick-up & Delivery experience
  • Experience with handheld delivery tracking devices and Electronic Log Devices is an asset
  • Reliable and dependable
  • TDG, WHMIS, and Forklift experience are assets
  • Must be able to provide a criminal record check, driver's abstract, and 2 work-related references.
