About the Role

Nutri-Nation is a custom manufacturer of nutritional food bars for leading brand marketers and retailers throughout North America and Internationally.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Packaging & Compliance Specialist to join our fast-growing nutrition bar manufacturing team. This role acts as a key link between Product Development, Business Development, Operations, Quality, and external suppliers to bring new packaging, ingredients, and certified products to market.

The ideal candidate brings technical packaging knowledge, food regulatory understanding, strong project management skills, and experience supporting product certifications in the food industry.

Key Responsibilities
Packaging Development & Execution

·      Collaborate with Product and Business Development teams to execute packaging initiatives from concept through launch.

·      Lead packaging proofing and manage artwork approvals.

·      Ensure packaging compliance with FDA and Health Canada food packaging regulations.

·      Work closely with designers and suppliers on die-lines, materials, and technical specs.

·      Support packaging procurement and vendor management.

·      Coordinate packaging line trials and ensure equipment compatibility.

·      Maintain timelines, documentation, and communication across departments.

Ingredient Sourcing & Development

·      Source and evaluate ingredients for new and existing formulations.

·      Coordinate supplier onboarding and technical/quality documentation.

·      Track, implement, and launch ingredient projects from concept to commercialization.

Product Certification Support

·      Assist in preparing documentation and applications for relevant food product certifications (e.g., organic, gluten-free, non-GMO, kosher, sustainability certifications, etc.).

·      Coordinate internally and with certifying bodies to maintain compliance and renewals.

·      Collect supplier documents and verification forms to support certification submissions.

·      Maintain certification audit records and support quality team during certification reviews.

Cross-Functional Communication & Project Management

·      Serve as primary communication link between internal teams and packaging/ingredient suppliers.

·      Drive timelines, resolve technical challenges, and ensure successful launches.

·      Maintain detailed project documentation and progress reports.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

·      Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Packaging Engineering, or related field preferred.

· years experience in CPG, food manufacturing, or nutraceuticals.

·      Experience with FDA & Health Canada packaging and food regulations.

·      Knowledge of packaging materials, formats, die-lines, and packaging equipment.

·      Experience supporting food certification programs (e.g., organic, GFCO, non-GMO, kosher, SQF/BRC audit support) is an asset.

·      ERP system or Project Management software experience is beneficial.

·      Strong cross-functional communication and supplier coordination abilities.

·      Highly organized with strong attention to detail.

·      Able to manage multiple projects and timelines in a fast-paced environment.

·      Ability to interpret regulatory guidelines and certification requirements.

·      Problem-solving mindset with an understanding of food manufacturing processes.

Day shift only

Hourly range: $26-$36/hr dependent upon experience of candidate
