Senior Property Underwriter Aon is seeking a Senior Property Underwriting – Linx Underwriting, based in Toronto. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada. This role is not eligible for sponsorship, and we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa or work permit.Aon is in the business of better decisionsAt Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world.As an organization, we are united through trust as one inclusive team and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.What the day will look likeAssess and evaluate complex risks, while analyzing requests for new business quotes, renewals and endorsements.Determines appropriate pricing based on financial and competitive analysis and thoroughly document thought process of risk assessmentComplete underwriting referrals as requiredNegotiates and binds terms, conditions and premium for new and renewal accounts within individual assigned portfolio and authority levelReview and analysis of claims and policy wordingsDevelops and maintains broker relationshipsEffectively manages multiple transactions, leveraging system functionalities to appropriately systems and document processing of transactions and file managementCreate an environment within the team that encourages inclusion and openness to ensure the plan is deliveredParticipates in self-development activities to improve or develop knowledge of underwriting or business-related subjects.Performing other related duties as assigned.How this opportunity is differentWe write a diverse book of business covering a wide range of clients including but not limited to: real estate, retail, manufacturing, wholes, forestry, public entities and Indigenous services.The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a good understanding of portfolio management, excellent listening skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both brokers and our insurance partners to drive an aligned strategy to profitably grow our business. Skills and experience that will lead to successCommercial Insurance knowledge with at least seven years of Property underwriting experienceCollege Diploma/University degree or equivalent experienceStrong analytical, mathematical, decision making and negotiating skillsIndependent thinker and self-starterExcellent communicationOrganizational and time-management skillsProficient computer skills in: MS Word, Excel and OutlookCommitted team playerExperience working in an MGA, or with referral-based underwriting is an assetHow we support our colleaguesIn addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage an inclusive workforce.
