We're a dynamic, independent studio of over 1200 passionate employees, with studios in Toronto (Behaviour Toronto), Rotterdam (Behaviour Rotterdam) and in the UK (Behaviour UK–North & South). Our day to day revolves around two core business focuses: Services and Original Games. Meanwhile, our Original Games unit pushes our creative limits, with our signature IPs, including the iconic Dead by Daylight. Join us and be a part of the future of interactive entertainment
At Behaviour Interactive, we believe in giving everyone a fair shot. We embrace a diverse and creative environment where everyone is celebrated. We value folks of all ages, sex, ethnicity, colour, ethnic or national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, civil status, disability, or any other protected characteristics as per applicable law.
As a Team Lead Game Designer on an unannounced project at Behaviour Interactive, you'll guide a team of 9 talented designers in crafting compelling gameplay experiences. You'll act as a key bridge between creative and production teams, ensuring smooth communication and alignment across disciplines. With proven experience in design leadership, you know how to delegate effectively, manage priorities, and support your team through fast-paced development challenges. You'll collaborate closely with producers and creatives to bring gameplay, combat, enemies, and mission design to life. Your ability to lead with clarity, empathy, and strategic vision will be essential to the success of the project. In this role you will:
  • Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary design team to deliver high-quality gameplay experiences, with a strong focus on combat, enemies, and mission design.
  • Collaborate closely with the producer, design director, and other leads to align priorities, manage fast-moving topics, and cascade key information from the creative director.
  • Own the design vision, from macro-level systems to micro-level mechanics, ensuring all documentation supports a clear and creative development process.
  • Coach and mentor team members, fostering growth and engagement through daily feedback, performance reviews, and skill development.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, especially within the genre, and bring fresh ideas to gameplay, environments, and features.
  • Create a positive team culture through strong communication, human-centered leadership, and the ability to tactfully challenge and guide others.
What we are looking for:
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a leadership role within the gaming industry.
  • Proven experience delivering at least one online multiplayer game.
  • Strong background in managing and mentoring a design team.
  • Deep understanding of the video game industry, its trends, and player expectations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey creative and technical ideas clearly.
  • A creative and detail-oriented mindset, with a passion for high-quality game design.
Dans ce rôle vous devrez:
  • Diriger et inspirer une équipe de design multidisciplinaire pour livrer des expériences de gameplay de haute qualité, avec un fort accent sur le combat, les ennemis et la conception de missions;
  • Collaborer étroitement avec la productrice, la directrice du design et les autres leads pour aligner les priorités, gérer les sujets urgents, et transmettre les informations clés provenant de la direction créative;
  • Porter la vision du design, des systèmes macro aux mécaniques micro, en veillant à ce que toute la documentation soutienne un processus de développement clair et créatif;
  • Encadrer et accompagner les membres de l'équipe, en favorisant leur développement et leur engagement grâce à des retours quotidiens, des évaluations de performance et des initiatives de formation;
  • Rester à l'affût des tendances de l'industrie, en particulier dans le genre du projet, et apporter des idées novatrices en matière de gameplay, d'environnement et de fonctionnalités;
  • Créer une culture d'équipe positive, fondée sur une communication forte, un leadership humain et la capacité à challenger les autres avec tact.
Ce que nous recherchons:
  • Minimum de trois ans d'expérience dans un rôle de leadership au sein de l'industrie du jeu vidéo;
  • Expérience avérée dans la livraison d'au moins un jeu multijoueur en ligne;
  • Solide expérience dans la gestion et le mentorat d'une équipe de conception;
  • Compréhension approfondie de l'industrie du jeu vidéo, de ses tendances et des attentes des joueuses et joueurs;
  • Excellentes compétences en communication, tant à l'écrit qu'à l'oral, avec la capacité de transmettre clairement des idées créatives et techniques;
