Highway Design Engineer

Binnie is looking for a Highway Design Engineer to join our join our Northern Division full-time in our Prince George office. Prince George is known as the "Northern Capital" of BC and is the largest city in the north with a growing economy and population in need of strong engineering infrastructure work.

Our Northern Division specializes in highway design, project management and engineering infrastructure solutions throughout Northern BC.

You will deliver a variety of civil engineering project designs, and act as the Engineer of Record – signing and sealing drawings, letters, and reports. You will also enjoy working alongside our talented team of Engineers, Project Managers, Designers and Technologists with support from our team of Senior Engineers who actively coach and mentor our staff to encourage development and progression. Your Role

• Preparing and reviewing design drawings reports, letters and technical memorandums.
• Leading civil engineering highway design projects.
• Directing staff involved with the design process.
• Supporting the construction engineering services for your projects.
• Maintaining and building relationships with clients.
• Supporting and/or leading the preparation of fee proposals.
• Undertaking quality control procedures and monitoring design standards on completed work.
• Coordinate and collaborate with project team members in the production of project deliverables and provide guidance where necessary.
• Use various standard engineering methods and techniques to solve problems and make decisions on project work.

What You Bring

• Minimum 10 + years of design and project delivery experience in a civil consulting engineering environment.
• Experience working independently on projects with ownership of project deliverables.
• Proven history of delivery of transportation or highway design projects.
• Bachelor's degree or recognized equivalent in applied science, engineering, geoscience, science or technology from a university program recognized by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board.
• Registered as P.Eng or P.L.Eng with a Canadian governing body.
• Demonstrated professional judgment, attention to detail and ability to consistently maintain a high degree of accuracy and quality in work produced.
• Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership, organize, delegate and review others' work and provide guidance and expertise to less experienced team members.
