Line Haul Driver

Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Line Haul Driver to join our transportation team either 1 or 2 days per week. This role involves operating commercial 5Ton over long distances to deliver freight safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, experience with mountain terrain, winter chain up, and a commitment to safety and timely deliveries. Prior experience with ATS format, forklift operation, automotive repair, and freight handling is a plus, ensuring smooth logistics and maintenance of equipment during routes. This position offers an opportunity to be part of a dedicated team committed to excellence in freight transportation. Given the permanent part time nature of this job, the perfect candidate might be a retired, or semi retired driver looking for extra income, or just wanting to stay active.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a 5Ton line-haul truck across regional routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Manage freight loading and unloading, utilizing power pallet jack and company scanner
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT standards
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with dispatch teams
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to ensure vehicle readiness
- Follow all safety protocols related to commercial driving
- Assist with securing freight to prevent damage during transit
Qualifications
- Valid class 5 driver's license with air endorsement, and a clean driving record
- Experience in commercial driving, freight handling, or related fields required
- Knowledge of automotive repair or troubleshooting skills is advantageous
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to long-distance trucking
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, loading, and unloading freight
- Excellent communication skills for coordination with dispatch and warehouse teams
- Must pass background checks and meet all DOT requirements for line-haul drivers
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $350.00 per day
Expected hours: 24 per week
