Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance and optimization of our facility's critical systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC, refrigeration, controls, and mechanical systems, ensuring minimal downtime and adherence to regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facility Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance of HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize equipment failures and downtime.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and efficient workflow.
  • Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with local, provincial, and federal regulations, including Health Canada guidelines.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for specialized maintenance tasks.
  • Budgeting: Manage the maintenance budget, including procurement of parts and services, while seeking cost-effective solutions.
  • Emergency Response: Lead the response to facility emergencies, including system failures and alarms, ensuring rapid resolution.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a maintenance management role within a regulated manufacturing environment, preferably in the cannabis, pharmaceutical, or food industries.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigeration, control systems, and mechanical equipment.
  • Education: Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in HVAC, refrigeration, or controls are highly desirable.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with GMP, OSHA, and other relevant regulatory standards.
  • Skills: Proficient in using maintenance management software (e.g., CMMS), strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills.

Working Conditions

  • Environment: Work is performed in a controlled indoor environment with exposure to cannabis plant materials.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand or walk for extended periods, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
  • Schedule: Full-time position with occasional on-call responsibilities for emergencies.
