At Behaviour, we believe the future of interactive experiences goes beyond screens. We're looking for a Technical Director who can help us push the boundaries of what immersive experiences can be, whether they're enjoyed at home, on the go, or in physical spaces.
The Technical Director's main responsibility is the successful creation and delivery of immersive projects by managing technical risks and opportunities.
You'll work closely with creative, UX, narrative design, production, and development teams to turn ambitious concepts into immersive experiences that are seamless, robust, and engaging. What you'll do:
- Define the technological approach for immersive projects (XR, interactive installations, hybrid environments);
- Lead and support a multidisciplinary technical team (developers, integrators, AV, QA, etc.);
- Participate in all project phases: ideation, prototyping, development, testing, installation;
- Collaborate with external partners and vendors to ensure the quality of technical deliverables;
- Facilitate client integration of solutions while maintaining close collaboration to understand needs, strengthen relationships, and ensure project success;
- Anticipate scalability, performance, and compatibility constraints (software, hardware, UX);
- Establish documentation, maintenance, and continuous improvement processes;
- Scout and evaluate new technology and tools as opportunities for innovation and development excellence;
- Contribute to Behaviour's long-term vision in immersive experiences;
- Manage technical budgets, timelines, and vendor relationships;
- Oversee relationships with technical suppliers, integrators, manufacturers, and specialized freelancers.
- 13+ years of relevant experience in immersive, interactive, XR with at least 2 years in a similar position;
- Technical expertise in real-time game and graphic engines (Unreal Engine, Unity, Touch Designer);
- Knowledge of interactive systems (sensors, computer vision, tracking, physical input);
- Strong understanding of hardware infrastructure: AV, networking, synchronization, spatial rendering, etc.;
- Excellent programming skills applied to immersive media (e.g., VR, AR, interactive environments, game engines);
- Proven experience managing technical teams (development, AV, R&D, integration);
- Ability to anticipate technical risks and propose concrete, realistic, and innovative solutions;
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to various stakeholders;
- Bilingual in French and English (international team and partners).

- Favoriser l'intégration des solutions auprès des clients tout en assurant une collaboration étroite afin de comprendre leurs besoins, renforcer la relation et garantir la réussite des projets.
- Anticiper les contraintes d'échelle, de performance et de compatibilité (logiciel, matériel, UX).
- Mettre en place des processus de documentation, maintenance, et amélioration continue.
- Assurer une veille et évaluer les nouvelles technologies en matière d'expériences immersives afin d'en tirer parti pour renforcer l'innovation et l'excellence technique des projets.
- Contribuer à la vision long terme de Behaviour dans le domaine des expériences immersives.
- Gérer les budgets techniques, les échéanciers et les relations fournisseurs.
- Gérer les relations avec les fournisseurs techniques, intégrateurs, manufacturiers et pigistes spécialisés.
- 13+ années d'expérience pertinente dans des projets immersifs, interactifs, XR avec au moins 2 ans dans un rôle similaire.
- Expertise technique en moteurs de jeu et graphique temps réel (Unreal Engine, Unity, Touch Designer).
- Connaissance des systèmes interactifs (capteurs, computer vision, tracking, input physique).
- Compréhension solide des infrastructures matérielles : AV, réseaux, synchronisation, rendu spatial, etc.
- Excellentes compétences en programmation appliquée aux médias immersifs (ex. : réalité virtuelle, réalité augmentée, environnements interactifs, engins de jeux).
- Expérience avérée en gestion d'équipe technique (développement, AV, R&D, intégration).
- Capacité à anticiper les risques techniques et à proposer des solutions concrètes, réalistes et innovantes.
- Capacité à vulgariser les concepts techniques à différentes parties prenantes.
- Bilinguisme français/anglais (équipe et partenaires internationaux).
Le rôle principal du·de la directeur·trice technique sur nos projets immersifs est de veiller à la réussite du développement et de la livraison des projets immersifs en assurant une gestion proactive des risques et des opportunités techniques.
Vous collaborerez étroitement avec les départements créatif, UX, design narratif, production et développement pour transformer des concepts ambitieux en expériences immersives fluides, robustes et engageantes.
