Role Responsibilities

As a Data Engineer, you will:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and design scalable ETL processes using Python and DataBricks.
  • Develop and deploy ETL jobs to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources.
  • Own the full engineering lifecycle: data extraction, cleansing, transformation, and loading.
  • Build and manage data pipelines with robust error handling, monitoring, and performance tuning.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards to maintain high quality.
  • Develop automation scripts and tooling to streamline workflows.
  • Implement unit and integration tests to ensure ETL reliability.
  • Integrate data sources using REST APIs and other techniques.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation including data flow diagrams and technical specs.

Required Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Python with clean, maintainable coding practices.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, especially DataBricks.
  • Proficiency in Snowflake or similar cloud-based data warehousing solutions.
  • Solid understanding of ETL principles, data modeling, and data integration best practices.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and collaborative team environments.
  • Experience with Git or similar version control systems.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of Linux systems and REST API integrations.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
  • Background in database administration or performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with orchestration tools like Apache Airflow.
  • Exposure to big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
