THE TRAUMA NURSING SUPERVISOR/REGISTRAR
will support trauma patient care and contribute to trauma education initiatives. The supervisor will function as a trauma registrar by maintaining accurate trauma records and acting as an emergency medical services liaison, while collaborating with emergency staff and providing support in the department when required. The supervisor will be responsible for providing total nursing care for all patients as identified in the trauma nursing standards of care, including providing patient/family education, collaborating with other health team personnel to maintain professional nursing practices in a clinical setting, and providing customers with quality health care. Each employee is responsible to provide good customer service to all customers (employees, patients, families, visitors, physicians, volunteers, vendors, etc.).
Qualifications
- Current Pennsylvania Registered Nursing license required
- Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Critical Care Management certifications required within 3 months of hire
- Trauma approved certification required within 1 year of hire (i.e Certified Emergency Nurse, Trauma Certified Registered Nurse, Critical Care Registered Nurse)
- ICD9/ICD10 Coding certification within 1 year of hire required
- Participation in the STN-TOPIC or STN-RURAL TOPIC course required within 1 year of hire
- Prior trauma experience preferred
- Prior use of Cerner software program preferred
