What is the Opportunity

Reporting to the AMI Supervisor, the Class B Gas Fitter will be responsible for installing gas meters for residential and small commercial clients. You will work in close coordination with the Field Service Leader to guarantee that all installations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in strict adherence to regulatory standards
What You'll Do Here:
- Install gas meters at residential and small commercial properties.
- Perform safety checks and leak tests on newly installed meters.
- Perform relights on appliances
- Adhere to safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensure all installations comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Interact with customers professionally, explaining the installation process and addressing any concerns.
- Accurately document all installation activities.
- Complete and submit necessary paperwork and report to the Field Service Leader.
- Use a handheld device for digital data entry in an electronic work order system.
- Maintain an inventory of tools, equipment, and materials.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills.
- Class B gas fitting license, valid in British Columbia is required.
- Excellent troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Good communication skills; able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable with digital data entry and using electronic devices.
- Valid driver's license (abstract required).
- Criminal background check required.
Project: Fortis Utilities
Location: Delta, BC
Rate: $43.14 per hour
Overtime: As per collective agreement
Schedule: 5x2, 10 hour days
Camp: No
