Overview:

Rumix Machining and Fabrication is a small fabrication and machine shop located in Hamilton. Rumix deals with lot of customers small and large where it takes on small and large jobs (complete machine assemblies lasting few months) Reporting to the Owner/President, this energetic, skilled, hands on, and team-oriented individual will manage a team of machinists, and fabricators ensuring that they perform at a high level while meeting the needs of the production floor. They will create a culture of Safety, quality and customer experience.

What You'll Do

·      Supervise daily shop operations, optimizing workflows to ensure efficient production, on-time job completion, including ordering raw material from multiple suppliers

·      Direct the workforce in adhering to safety protocols, efficiency standards, housekeeping practices, and accurate production reporting

·      Review deviations in measurements, tolerances, programming, and inspection records, implementing corrective actions for consistent quality assurance

·      Operate and troubleshoot CNC vertical mills when necessary, diagnosing issues swiftly to minimize downtime and maintain equipment reliability

·      Collaborate closely with staff and cross-functional teams to enhance productivity, meet customer quality demands, and address additional assigned duties

What You'll Bring

·      Diploma or certificate in machining and/or CNC programming and/or fabrication or equivalent experience

·      Proficiency with precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges), along with strong troubleshooting and tolerance verification skills

·      Excellent soft skills in communication, teamwork, problem-solving, decision-making, and organized task planning to support effective leadership

· years of hands-on fabrication or machine shop experience, including 2 years in a supervisory role
