Senior Accountant
The Opportunity
The Senior Accountant will oversee various areas of general accounting activities including: account reconciliations, tax compliance reporting, consolidation, month-end close and general ledger maintenance. This is a hybrid role – office/remote work.

This is an opportunity to drive the monthly, quarterly and annual close process, and to be heavily involved with quarterly reviews and year-end audits. The role will also support the preparation of internal and external financial reporting. The candidate should have an in-depth understanding of general accounting, and IFRS and/or U.S. GAAP.

What You'll Do

  • Support the company's month-end close process including account reconciliations, verifying accuracy of transactions and balances, and performing variance analyses while ensuring policies and procedures are followed to comply with the requirements of IFRS
  • Responsible for accurate accounting of areas such as prepaids, payroll, debt and equity (including stock-based compensation), and accounts receivable
  • Calculate and coordinate intercompany transactions between Canada and our international subsidiaries on a monthly basis
  • Coordinate with other departments to obtain transaction information, research reconciling items, and resolve issues
  • Review processes and procedures to streamline and enhance efficiencies by automating manual processes
  • Collaborate with other business stakeholders to support implementation of accounting-related systems/applications and process improvements
  • Assist with the annual financial audits
  • Assist with local and international tax compliance filings
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA preferred
  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • Recent experience with IFRS or U.S. GAAP accounting standards
  • Demonstrated financial reporting and applicable technical skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly excel
  • Strong hands-on experience with NetSuite or equivalent ERP desired
