We are seeking a Maintenance and Repair Worker to join the team. The ideal candidate will perform both routine maintenance and corrective repairs on machines, mechanical equipment and buildings. Key duties include troubleshooting mechanical problems, conducting inspections, performing tasks like plumbing, electrical work, and carpentry, and responding to repair requests. Using various tools and equipment to keep systems and structures in good working order.
Core Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance: Inspect equipment and systems, change filters, lubricate parts, and conduct other preventive actions to ensure proper function.
- Troubleshoot and repair: Diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues, which can include repairing leaks, fixing damaged walls, or replacing parts.
- Respond to requests: Address maintenance tickets and repair requests from staff, clients or tenants promptly.
- Conduct inspections: Regularly examine buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify potential problems before they become major issues.
- Handle repairs and installation: Install new equipment, perform carpentry work, and make minor repairs to structures like floors and stairs.
- Maintain records: Keep a log of maintenance and repair tasks performed Perform required preventative maintenance as assigned, report machine deficiencies, irregularities and unsafe conditions
- Identify and resolve equipment and material problems, maintain optimal parts inventory levels
- Perform other duties as required
Necessary Skills and Responsibilities:
- Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50lbs and should be in overall good physical health
- Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and plumbing systems in day to day tasks for the job
- Ability to respond to emergencies in a timely manner and be able to prioritize important work
- Technical skills: A broad set of skills including basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, with the ability to diagnose issues and find solutions
- Physical ability: Must be able to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and work in various environments, including potentially cramped spaces or at heights
- Attention to detail: Required for tasks such as inspections and precise repairs
- Communication skills: To report issues and collaborate with other team members
- Proven self-starter who can work unsupervised
- Ability to determine and maintain critical parts inventory
- Hard working, ability to multi-task
- Good problem-solving and leadership skills and takes initiative to get things done
- Good listening skills and can take directions, and communicate effectively
- A valid driver's license
- Above all, take pride in establishing and maintaining a clean efficient work environment
Work Environment and Conditions:
- Physically demanding: Involves manual labor and tasks that require physical exertion.
- Diverse settings: Work in various locations such as maintenance buildings, client's onsite properties and retail locations.
Compensation:
- Full time, permeant, Monday to Friday $25-$28 an hour based upon experience
